Planet Lunch

I work near Farringdon Circle station and just about every major business and its employees in that area go out to lunch. I am one of those, as lunch is probably my favourite meal of the day and it’s a matter of convenience to buy take out.

What is not convenient for the city and the planet is the sheer volume of trash accumulated because we are all eating out this way. Around 2-3pm, the 3-4 block radius around my office has restaurants and small shops lined up with huge bags of trash and streets littered with cups and bags. It’s sickening. Some restaurants do a great job of offering paper straws, biodegradable cups and cutlery but the offerings are few and inconsistent. I also see various  start-ups offer siloed solutions, such as a resuable straw, or portable cups, but not all the things you need to ditch the single-use materials at lunch.

Planet Lunch seeks to change that. I use a Stojo Collapsible cup with straw to get my drinks wherever I go. I’ve used 3D modelling software to create an attachable disk to the Stojo which contains portable and reusable cutlery and bag, so that way you can truly minimise the waste you create at lunch.

I’m a bit delayed in my debut and of course C19 hasn’t helped. Stay tuned or contact me directly via blog or IG to learn more!
